     Marcus Allan Anderson, age 35, of Sibley, Iowa died Friday, November 19, 2021 at his home.

     A visitation will take place on Sunday, November 28th from 5-7pm at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, Iowa with family present.

     A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 29, 2021 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, Iowa with Reverend Richard Milbrandt officiating.

     Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lost Sheep Ministries of Minnesota https://lostsheepministriesmn.org, where Marcus spent five months at the beginning of this year.

     Marcus Allan Anderson was born on January 4, 1986 in Mkar, Nigeria as the fifth child of Reverend Russell and Harriet (Evers) Anderson. He was homeschooled through Abeka Academy as his family moved around the world. He spent his formative years in Nigeria, Minnesota, Canada, Ukraine, Florida, and Iowa. While living in Ocheyedan, he received his high school diploma from Abeka. Following his graduation, Marcus moved to Sibley and worked for Harms and Henrichs Construction for 17 years. 

     Marcus grew up in the Lutheran church. He was baptized at Ishi Aya Lutheran Church in Nigeria, confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola, FL, and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved watching his favorite hockey team the Toronto Maple Leafs. His family will cherish the memories they have of him fishing, playing street hockey, soccer, and teasing his siblings. All will miss his funny jokes, for he was the life of the party.

     Those left to cherish his memory are his parents; his eight siblings, Christopher (Faith) Anderson of Mangalia, Romania, Emily (Tom) Anderson of St. Augustine, FL, Timothy (Nikki) Anderson of Winter Haven, FL, Matthew (Leah) Anderson of Mocksville, NC, Jennifer (Caleb) Karges of Irvine, CA, Walter Anderson of Paullina, IA, Samuel (Julia) Anderson of Falls Church, VA, Jacob Anderson of Lincoln, NE; along with many nieces; nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his aunt, his uncle, and his brother, Bradley Tyler Anderson (d.1990).
