      Marisa “Missy” Smolke, age 54 of Seattle, WA, formerly of Sibley, IA died Friday, June 1, 2018 in Chamberlain, SD.

     Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8^th at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, with Reverend Luke Schouten officiating.

     Private burial for family will take place prior to the service in Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley.

     Visitation will be Thursday, June 7^th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Marisa Kay Smolke was born on November 13, 1963 in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Marion and Marlys (Van Briesen) Brink. She grew up in Sibley and later graduated from Sibley High School in 1982. On June 21, 1985, Marisa was united in marriage to Paul Smolke in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Minneapolis, MN from 1986 to 1997 and then moved to Seattle, WA. To this union three daughters were born, Alissa, and twins, Chelsea and Kara.

      Marisa worked various places throughout her life such as a Respiratory Therapist in Sheldon, IA in 1983, at the library in Washington, while raising her children, Evergreen Hospital in Washington and most recent at Natural Beauty Growers in Boyden, IA.

      Her hobbies included cooking, baking, needlepoint, crocheting, reading, and walking.

    Marisa is survived by her three daughters, Alissa (Brandon) Rhodes of Lynnwood, WA, Chelsea (Ethan) Gillmore of Maple Valley, WA and Kara (Drew) Bye of Maple Valley, WA; her mother, Marlys Brink of Sibley, IA; brother, Steven Brink of Sanborn, IA; and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her dad, Marion Brink in 2005.
