Mark "Packy" Stewart

     Mark “Packy” Stewart age 69 of Rock Rapids, Iowa died Monday, February 21, 2022, at Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA. 

     Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 26th at Peace Lutheran Church of Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Alex Sloter officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery of Rock Rapids.

     Visitation will be Saturday morning, from 9:30 AM until the hour of service at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids.

     Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids is in charge of services.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the family for later designation.

     Mark Douglas Stewart was born May 20, 1952, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Audrey (Wilken) Stewart. He graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1970 and continued his education at the University of Kansas where he studied Journalism. 

     After graduating from college, he returned home and worked with his family business, Stewart Construction and Rock Rapids Cashway Lumber until his passing. 

     He was united in marriage to Leigh Ann Collins on April 14, 1984. They were blessed with two children, Lindsey and Matthew. 

     He participated in golf league, shot trap league at the Rock Rapids Gun Club, and pool league at the Pool Hall, Sportman’s Lounge, and Sportys. He enjoyed many trips with Leigh and family members. His family will remember him as a kindhearted, intelligent, witty man who would help anyone in need. 

     This past Monday, February 21, 2022, Packy died unexpectedly at the age of 69 years.

     He is survived by his wife, Leigh Ann Stewart of Rock Rapids, IA; daughter, Lindsey Stewart and her to daughters, Shaquita and Amira, all of Rock Rapids, IA; his mother, Audrey Stewart of Rock Rapids, IA; two brothers, Grant (Karen) Stewart of Rock Rapids, IA and Kent (Marie) Stewart of Okoboji, IA;  one sister, Rebecca (Craig) Hedges of Spirit Lake, IA  and all those with us today.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Stewart; his son, Matthew Stewart; and all those that went before him.
