     Marlys Jurrens age 80 of Sibley, IA died suddenly Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

     Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley with Reverend Barbara Kopperud officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA.

     Visitation will be Thursday, April 19^th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Marlys Mae Jurrens was born on April 23, 1937 in Rushmore, MN, the daughter of Logan and Winnie (Kruse) Wills. She grew up in the Sibley area and attended school there. On July 8, 1955, Marlys was united in marriage to Alvin Jurrens in Sibley. They lived several places throughout their marriage, such as Rushmore, MN, Adrian, MN, Colorado and Sibley, IA is where they returned later to live. Marlys was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sibley. She was a seamstress and helped many people in the community. Marlys also enjoyed baking and traveling different places with her husband Alvin.

     Marlys is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Alvin Jurrens of Sibley, IA; three siblings: Delbert (Frances) Wills of Sibley, IA, Dorothy Schilling of Denver, CO and Lorn (Joan) Wills of Sanborn, IA; sisters and brothers-in-law: Gloria Wills of Sibley, IA, Sharon Wills of Sheldon, IA, Ubbe (Darlene) Jurrens of LeMars, IA, Jake (Ruth) Jurrens of Sibley, IA, Nancy Jurrens of Pipestone, MN, Clarence (Joyce) Jurrens of Fulda, MN, Harold (Faye) Jurrens of Lake Wilson, MN, Annetta (David) Hickman of Algona, IA, Fred Jurrens of Little Rock, IA and Marvin Jurrens of Little Rock, IA; many nieces and nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Logan and Winnie Wills; three brothers: Russell, Lyle, and Lynn; father and mother-in-law, Claus and Anke Jurrens, sister and brothers-in-law: Glenn Jurrens, Mavis Jurrens and Leroy Schilling.
