Michael Lee Gross was born on April 17, 1972, in Sibley, IA, the son of Leeroy and Delores (Hayenga) Gross. Michael was born with a heart defect and wasn’t expected to live past age seven. He then attended Iowa Lakes Community College for two years. Michael lived in Sioux Falls, SD for a time then moved to Rock Rapids, IA. Michael was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church since 2012, where he served as a Deacon, and usher. He was a member of the churches Congregational Care Team and during COVID he took it upon himself to read scripture every day through social media to his fellow parishioners. He worked several different jobs such as Target and Menards as a cashier. Michael also worked in management for hotels and motels, and he really enjoyed his time working at “The Inn” in Okoboji.
Michael enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Twins on TV, going to the Okoboji Summer Theater, and especially visiting his family.
