Michael Dean Ubbinga

     Michael Ubbinga, age 45 of George, IA, died Monday, April 21, 2025, at his home in George, IA.

     Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.

     A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in George, with Pastor Candace Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George.

     Michael Dean Ubbinga was born on August 4, 1979, the son of Arlen and Rosemary (Duin) Ubbinga. Michael grew up in northwest Iowa and lived some of his life in the Twin Cities in Minnesota. Growing up he and his twin brother Nathan would enjoy playing league softball together. For the past several years, he made his home in George, IA. He worked for various manufacturers in northwest Iowa as a welder and production fabricator. Michael was a proud parent of his two children, Grace and Mason. He always enjoyed spending time with them and when possible, watching them participate in their activities. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and riding bicycle with his son Mason. He loved his family, including his dog, Tahko. Michael will be greatly missed.

     He is survived by his children, Grace and Mason Ubbinga of George, IA; his parents, Arlen and Sandee Ubbinga of St. Paul, MN and Rosemary and Tim Van Den Brink of George, IA; his siblings, Nathan Ubbinga of Mounds, MN; Neil Ubbinga of White Bear Lake, MN and Ashley (Mike Timmer) Feucht of George, IA; his aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews.

     Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Verdean and Arlene Ubbinga and Edwin and Marlys Duin.
