     Mildred “Mickey” Ter Wee age 78, of Larchwood, Iowa died Saturday, January 23, 2021, Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

     Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, January 29^th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, rural Inwood, IA, with Pastor James Koller officiating.  Burial will follow at the Larchwood Cemetery.  A livestream link will be available here prior to the funeral service.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed at the church.

     Public visitation will be Thursday, January 28^th from 2:00 to 7:00 PM with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed.   

     The family requests memorials directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

     Mildred Faye Johnson was born January 25, 1942 in Hudson, South Dakota, the daughter of Marvin Joel and Agnes Leola (Hagen) Johnson. She was raised on a farm near Fairview, SD. She attended country school and graduated from Canton High School. She continued her education at Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, SD.

     She was united in marriage to Peter Ter Wee on August 25, 1972 at East Side Baptist church in Sioux Falls, SD. They were blessed with four children, Dan, Joni, Kristi and Sara. Mickey worked at Lincoln County Courthouse in Canton, SD, Southeast Vo-Tech School and Board of Education in Sioux Falls, SD, Model Market in Inwood, IA, the Inwood State Bank and lastly at Security Savings Bank before retirement.

     She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, rural Inwood, IA and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cross word puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her family will remember her as sweet, soft spoken, kind hearted, and always having a smile on her face.

     She is survived by four children, Dan (his wife, Sheila) Ter Wee of Inwood, IA, Joni (husband, Mark) DeBruin of Larchwood, IA, Kristi Ter Wee of Sioux Falls, SD and Sara (husband, Jim) DeSmet of Larchwood, IA; eight grandchildren, Derek (his wife, Stacy) Ter Wee, Laura (her husband, Cory) Lesnar, Joel (his wife, Alyssa) Ter Wee and Paul Ter Wee, Joshua (his wife, Karen) DeBruin, Andrew G. Ter Wee, Jordan and Carson DeSmet; four great-grandchildren, Lilly, Luna, Brooks and Ivy Jo; a sister, Connie (her husband, Rolland) Hartland of Rapid City, SD; several nieces, nephews and other extended family; and special friend, Butch Roemen.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Agnes Johnson; and her husband of 38 years, Peter Ter Wee.
