Monte Joe Feldkamp, born June 16, 1949, in Sibley, Iowa, was the cherished son of Harold M. and Pauline J. Jarrott Feldkamp. He grew up in Sibley and graduated from Sibley Community Schools in 1968, then continued his education at Worthington Community College.
On December 29, 1973, Monte married the love of his life, Karen Ann Poss, in Sibley, Iowa. They shared a faithful journey together, living in various places, including Sioux City, IA, Carrollton, TX, Windom, MN, and ultimately returning to Sibley. Monte spent the majority of his career working for Associated Milk Producers Incorporated, where he ultimately retired after 29 years of service.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley, Monte was actively involved in his church. He most recently enjoyed participating in a Wednesday night men’s Bible Study Group, where he formed close relationships. Monte was instrumental in leading his wife, Karen, to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ which created a legacy of faith that would flourish throughout his entire family.
Monte had a passion for fishing, hunting, and playing cards, especially Hearts. He was known as a “dog whisperer,” and a true animal lover. His lap was a second home to dogs that needed care when their owners were away. Monte enjoyed cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers or anyone that was playing against the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed watching classic shows like The Andy Griffith Show and Tim Conway on The Carol Burnett Show. Monte took joy in watching his grandchildren excel in sports and music. He liked connecting with family and friends through Facebook.
Monte is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Karen Feldkamp of Sibley, IA; three children, Daniel (Betsie) Feldkamp of Apple Valley, MN, Jonathan (Caroline) Feldkamp of Sioux Falls, SD, and Amanda Feldkamp of Sioux Falls, SD; and eight grandchildren, Tamsen, Elijah, Logan, Levi, Lucas, Landon, Lincoln, and Lyric.
