Myrna Mae Eben

George, Iowa        Myrna M. Eben age 84 of George, IA died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Rock Rapids Health Centre in Rock Rapids, IA.        Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of George, IA with Rev. Dr. Mike Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George.        Visitation will be Friday, February 15th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, IA.        In lieu of flowers family wish memorials to be directed to the Christian Hour Circle in care of the First Baptist Church.        Myrna Mae Eben was born March 31, 1934 in Sibley, IA to Henry and Lillian (Klaahsen) Sprock. As a young child she moved from rural Sibley to rural Rock Rapids. She received her education in Rock Rapids. On December 30, 1953 Myrna was united in marriage to Martin Eben. To this union 4 children were born. On February 29, 1984 Martin passed away ending their marriage of 30 years.      Myrna was a farm wife from 1953 until 1984. She worked at the Rock Rapids Health Centre, the George Café, the Tarko Doll store and later still, at the Symens Antiques store in George.      She attended the First Baptist Church of rural George, IA where she was involved with the Christian Hour Circle. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, puzzles, cross stitch and freedom club travels. Myrna was an excellent cook and her family will fondly remember the meals she made with such love.      She is survived by daughter, Linda Riemersma of George, IA; sons, Verlyn (Myra) Eben of Sioux Falls, SD, Larry (Denise) Eben of Plant City, FL and Arnie Eben and fiancé Becky Lauters both of George, IA; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.      Myrna was proceeded in death by her parents; and husband, Martin Eben.
