Pamela Gay Coy

Rock Rapids, IA      Pamela Coy age 65 of Rock Rapids, IA, died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, IA.      Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, April 27th at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Mark Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery of Rock Rapids.      Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Jurrens Funeral Home. Pamela Gay Coy was born on September 8th, 1952 in De Smet, SD, to Delbert and Evelyn (Haug) Coy. She lived on a farm near Erwin, SD until 1956, when the Coy family moved to Rock Rapids, IA.      Pam attended school at Central Lyon in Rock Rapids and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to church activities with her mother and knew many Bible verses and hymns. Pam loved to spend time with her family and friends and was known for her outgoing and sunny disposition. She made friends wherever she went.      In 1994, Pam went to live with her sister Cheryl in Sioux City, IA and was a member of the Sioux City Baptist Church. After Cheryl passed away in 2004, Pam lived at Helms House in Sioux City. She enjoyed the time she spent with the Mid-Step organization in Sioux City. In February of 2016, Pam moved back to Rock Rapids and was a resident at Lyon Manor Specialty Care.      Pam is survived by her brother Conley Coy and his wife Virginia of Fremont, NE; her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey DeYong of Rock Rapids, IA; Gregory DeYong (wife Penny) of Cape Girardeau, MO; Jana DeYong of Rock Rapids, IA; Michael Faber of Sioux City, IA; Rick Faber of Sioux City, IA; Kim Ruzicka of North Bend, NE; Brett Steenblock of Fremont, NE; Stacie Steenblock of Lincoln, NE; Jason Coy (wife Leah) of Beatrice, NE; and Justin Coy (wife Christy) of Bellevue, NE; one brother-in-law, Darrell Steenblock of Fremont, NE; and many great-nieces and nephews.      Pam was preceeded in death by her parents, Delbert and Evelyn Coy; her sister Charlene DeYong and Charlene's husband, Donald; her sister Cheryl Faber and Cheryl's husband, Allen; her sister Sheila Steenblock; and her niece Lisa DeYong.
