There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service later this summer for Patricia “Pat” Mahlman age 63 of Sibley, IA, who passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her home in Sibley. Patricia Kay Dagel was born on December 27, 1954 in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Brandt) Dagel. She grew up on a farm south of Sibley and attended Sibley Community schools and graduated from Sibley High School in 1973. Following her graduation, she received nurses aid training and later worked for Country View Manor for several years. On August 31, 2000, Pat was united in marriage to William “Doug” Mahlman in Sibley, IA. Pat and Doug worked together driving truck. She also helped Doug care for his mother Lois. Pat loved cats and birds, she liked to read, collect antiques and do crafts. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews. Pat is survived by her husband of seventeen years, Doug Mahlman of Sibley, IA; son, Travis Arens of Sibley, IA; six sibling: Gary (Cathy) Dagel of Sibley, IA, Jack (Carol) Dagel of Ocheyedan, IA, Donna Dagel of Sibley, IA, twin brother, Mike (LeAnn) Dagel of Sibley, IA, Peggy Dagel of Sibley, IA and Mark (Brenda) Dagel of Sibley, IA; and many other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret Dagel; and four brothers: Dennis, Harold, John and Donald Dagel.
