Paul Sehr

NOTICE: Larchwood, IA        Paul Sehr age 82 of Egan, SD died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.        A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Larchwood, IA, with Father Francis Makwinja celebrating.        Visitation will be Friday, June 15th with family present from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Larchwood. There will also be a Vigil service at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the church.     Paul Louis Sehr was born June 17, 1935 in Larchwood, IA the son of Louis and Mary (Roeman) Sehr. He received his education and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Larchwood. Paul entered the United States Marine Corp. in 1953 and served until 1956 attaining the rank of CPL. He was united in marriage to Helen King in 1956 in Quartzsite, AZ. To this union 6 children were born. Paul was a professional driver for Georgia Pacific and retired in 1998. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. Paul also liked lawn mower racing and tractor pulls.       He is survived by his sons, Ken (Cindy) Sehr of Gilbert, AZ and Michael (Lori) Sehr of Colton, SD; daughters, Valarie Farris of Sioux Falls, SD and Anni (Rick) McBride of Camp Verde, AZ; son, Edward (Julie) Sehr of Dell Rapids, SD; daughter, Malinda (Jaysen) Hayes of Lander, WY; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Barb) Sehr of Larchwood, IA and Clarence (Nancy) Sehr of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Trudy Hollenbeck of Lester, IA and Peggy (Jim) Raley of Brandon, SD; sister-in-law, Evelyn Sehr of Sioux Falls, SD; and other extended family members.      He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Roeman Sehr and Louis Sehr; brother, John Sehr; and brother-in-law, Hap Hollenbeck.
