     Paul A. Trei, age 63, of Rock Rapids, IA died on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Rock Rapids Health Centre in Rock Rapids, IA.

     Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 19^th at the Zoar Presbyterian Church, rural George, IA with Rev. John Pea and Rev. Dale Lint officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

     Visitation will be Thursday, December 19^th from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the Zoar Presbyterian Church rural George, IA.

     Paul Arthur Trei was born May 13, 1956 in Sibley, IA, the son of Arthur A. and Nina E. (Larson) Trei. He was raised in George, IA and attended George Community Schools and graduated in 1974. He continued his education for 2 years at Northwest Iowa Community College for Auto Body Repair.

     Paul was married to Karen Vander Naald on October 18, 1980. Paul lived in the Sheldon and Ashton, IA areas. He drove semi-truck over the road for many years. He became self employed and hauled cattle and hogs for local farmers. He also drove the mail truck for the U.S. Postal Service. He moved to Rock Rapids, IA in 2017.

     He was a lifelong member of Zoar Presbyterian Church near George, IA. Paul enjoyed working on old cars and taking care of and walking his dogs!  

     Paul was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in January of 2017. He fought a valiant fight until his time of death.

     He is survived by his two sons, Arthur Trei of Archer, IA and Zachary (Flor) Trei of San Antonio, TX; two grandsons, Zachary Louis Jr. and Dylan Johnathon Trei; two sisters, Karol (Bob) Bruns of Garden Ridge, TX and Colleen (Steve) Beito of New Braunfels, TX; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Nina Trei; infant daughter, Tristin Raye Trei; and sister, Linda Eberline.
