Peter Klaus Zeilmann

     Peter Zeilmann age 70 of Hills, Minnesota, formerly of Gochsheim, Germany died Monday, May 2, 2022 at Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

     A memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, May 6, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, Minnesota with Pastor Juanita Parker, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

     Peter Klaus Zeilmann was born December 5, 1951, in Wermerichshausen, Germany, the son of Sebastian and Johanna (Göb) Zeilmann.  He was raised in a foster home in Theilheim, Germany.  He attended school and then attended electrical school. 

     On February 8, 1974, Peter was united in marriage to Inge (Endres) in Bergrheinfeld, Germany.  To this union, one daughter, Karin, was born.  They lived in Werneck, Ettleben, and Gochsheim.  Peter was a bus driver for Stadtwerke Schweinfurt before his retirement in 2015.  Peter and Inge moved to the United States in 2017 to be closer and spend more time with their daughter and her family. 

     Peter enjoyed playing music on the keyboard and accordion, biking, hiking, camping, and traveling through America.  He was a proud father of one daughter, and so very proud of his two granddaughters, Leeanna and Madison.  He was a caring and loving husband to his wife, Inge.

     Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Inge; daughter, Karin (Jesse) Gaugler of Hills, MN; two granddaughters, Leeanna and Madison Gaugler; one sister, Rita (Fred) Baughman of Daytona, FL; foster siblings, Renate, Rosemarie, Waltraud, Walter, and their families; along with extended family and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian and Johanna; foster mom, Veronika; siblings, Werner Zeilmann, Erika Herrera, Gustav Zeilmann, Otto Zeilmann; in-laws, Eugen and Edeltraud Endres; sister-in-law, Christa Schmee; and niece Monika Endres.
