     Phyllis Kruger age 74, of Sibley, Iowa died unexpectedly Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Osceola Regional Hospital in Sibley, IA.

     Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 9^th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Tim Nappe officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

     Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8^th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with the family present at Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Phyllis Elaine Kruger was born July 15, 1947, in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Lillian (Hindt) Harms. She grew up in Rushmore, MN and Little Rock, IA, graduating from Little Rock High School in 1965.

     She was united in marriage to Donald Lee Kruger on April 15, 1966, at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA, and to this union four children were born, Amy, Lisa, Darrin and Dawn. Phyllis and Don lived in Sibley all their married life. Over the years Phyllis was a full-time mother and Avon Consultant. After her children were older, she worked various places, such as Ace Hardware and the grocery store. She sold Avon for 45 years and worked for the hardware store for over 25 years. She also worked at Grace’s Boutique and volunteered at New Beginnings and Meals On Wheels.

     She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, active with several church activities. She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, playing cards with friends and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. Phyllis was blessed with many memorable trips with her husband, family and friends. She took several Amtrak trips across the U.S.

     On November 12, 2013, her husband Don passed away after many years of failing health. Phyllis was a committed caretaker for her husband. After his death she stayed busy with volunteer work and attending community activities.

     This past Friday, February 4, 2022, Phyllis passed away unexpectedly at Osceola Regional Health in Sibley at the age of 74.

     She is survived by her four children, Amy (Gary) Moet of Cave Creek, AZ, Lisa (Matt) Tangeman of Saraland, AL, Darrin (Susan) Kruger and their son, Easton Kruger of Milford, IA, and Dawn (Justin) Sorenson and their children, Reid and Rylie Sorenson of Spirit Lake, IA; one brother, Merle (wife, Lois) Harms of Story City, IA; brother-in-law, Darvin (Therese) Kruger of Park Rapids, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death her parents, Donald and Lillian Harms; husband of 47 years, Donald L. Kruger; two brothers, Gene and Roger Harms.
