    Randall Ludwig age 77 of Lester, IA, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, IA.

     Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa.  A visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM.  There will be no public luncheon following the service.

     Inurnment will take place at a later date at the West Bend, IA city cemetery.

     There will be a public visitation, with family present, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Church Fellowship Hall in Lester, IA. 

     We will be following the CDC and local social distancing guidelines.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials directed to the Great Plains Streetrodders.

     Randall Aaron Ludwig was born January 16, 1944.  He was the son of Arnold and Katie (Banwart) Ludwig.  He grew up in West Bend, Iowa and attended West Bend School graduating in 1962.  He then attended the Universal Trade School in Omaha, Nebraska for auto body repair.  He was united in marriage to Deanna Jurgens on August 3, 1963 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  Randy and Deanna made their home in Rutland, Iowa from 1963 to 1979, before moving to Canton, South Dakota.  They were blessed with four children, Dean, Rod, Scott, and Vicki.  Deanna passed away in 2008.  Randy moved to Lester, Iowa in 2015.  He was a gas and electrical lineman until his retirement in 1997 from Midwest Gas.   Randy attended the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester for many years.  In the past, Randy was the fire chief in Rutland, and an EMT in Canton.  His passion was cars.  He was very dedicated to the car industry. He worked for Barrett-Jackson for 25 years and he organized the Canton Car show for 27 years.  He and his wife worked many car shows together throughout the years.

     Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Dean Ludwig (Terri Trumm) of Vermillion, SD; Rod Ludwig of Sioux Falls, SD; Scott Ludwig of Canton, SD; and Vicki Servold of Arvada, CO; grandchildren, Ryan, Heather, Danny, Alex, Aaron, Devon, Alison, Ashlyn, Ava, Jensen, and Jaron; two great grandchildren, Serenity and Danica; along with extended relatives and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Katie; wife, Deanna; and sister Jeanne Ludwig.
