Richard "Rich" Kruger age 82 of Sibley, Iowa died Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Country View Manor Care Center in Sibley.
Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022, at First Reformed Church in Sibley, with Pastor Tim Nappe, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 27th with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley.
Richard Lee Kruger was born on December 15, 1939, in Sibley, IA, the son of Evert and Ida (Symens) Kruger. He grew up in Sibley and attended country school there.
On January 12, 1960, Rich was united in marriage to JoAnn Buss at the Trinity Reformed Church in Sibley. The couple made their home in Sibley and to this union four children were born, Ryan, Randy, Julie, and Jason.
Rich hauled milk for a time, worked for the City of Sibley, the REC and owned and operated R&J Electric for several years. He served on the Sibley Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years and served as Fire Chief for several years. Rich enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Ryan Kruger of Adrian, MN, Randy (Brenda) Kruger of Lakeville, MN, Julie Jeffers of Adrian, MN, and Jason (Robyn) Kruger of Sibley, IA; ten grandchildren, Marcus (Michaela) Kruger, Shelby Harris, Nicholas Kruger, Terra (Tim) Acri, Torri (Levi) Zins, Dalton Jeffers, Carli Jeffers (Tanner Loosbrock), Mikayla Jeffers (Kyle Meyer), Megan (Brad) Adson, and Kellyn Kruger; five great grandchildren, Landyn Zins, Rylan Zins, Eva Adson, Reagan Zins, and Baby Boy Adson on the way; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Kruger on December 17, 2016; parents, Evert, and Ida Kruger; infant daughter, Kathie Ann Kruger; sister, Rosie Feenstra; and brother, Gaylord Kruger.
