Richard "Rick" Dean Jansma

     Rick Jansma, age 39 of Sibley, IA died Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at his home in Sibley, IA.

     Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Terry Simm officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

     Public visitation will be Friday, July 2^nd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley.

     Richard Dean Jansma was born on March 7, 1982, in Sibley, IA, the son of Elroy and Patricia (Groen) Jansma.  He grew up in Sibley and later graduated from Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in 2001.

     On June 28, 2002, he was united in marriage to Amanda Farrell in Sibley, IA and to this union one daughter Sarah was born. 

     Rick most recently worked inventory at Maintainer but in the past was a welder, and CNC operator.  He enjoyed racing, cars, 4-wheeling, camping and guns.  Rick had a love for animals and Tannerite explosions.  His family will remember purple.

     Rick is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Amanda Jansma of Sibley, IA; daughter, Sarah Jansma of Sibley, IA; parents, Elroy and Patricia Jansma of Sibley, IA; brother, Chad (Connie) Jansma of Rock Rapids, IA; sister, Brenda Jansma of Sibley, IA; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Alyce Groen; paternal grandparents, Fredrick and Klassina Jansma; and sister, Jennifer Jansma.
