Ricky "Rick" Melvin Loeschen

     Rick Loeschen age 69 formerly of Harris, Iowa died Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA.

     A memorial visitation will take place Sunday, July 31^st with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley.

     Ricky Melvin Loeschen was born on April 5, 1953, in Sibley, IA, the son of Melvin and Corrine (Gee) Loeschen. He grew up in Ocheyedan, IA and later graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1971. On June 29, 1974, he was united in marriage to Connie Youngdahl at the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan. The couple lived in Ocheyedan for a time and later moved to an acreage outside of Harris, IA. To this union four children were born, Elizabeth, Drew, Marianne, and Peter.

     Rick was a self-employed farmer and raised cattle and worked as a Grain Manager at C.E.A. He loved to garden, be outside, and spend time with his children and grandchildren. Everyone will remember him for his huge garden and his contagious laugh. He will be greatly missed.

     Rick is survived by his four children, Elizabeth (Jarrod) McFarling of Sioux Falls, SD, Drew Loeschen of Jackson, MN, Marianne (James) Hamil of Spirit Lake, IA, and Peter (Jessica) Loeschen of Sibley, IA; nine grandchildren, Caitlin Constatino, Kirsten McFarling, Kade Loeschen, Jaina Hamil, Aaliyah Loeschen, Londyn Loeschen, Ryker Loeschen, Allana Hamil and Winry Hamil; two brothers, Steve (Diane) Loeschen of Ocheyedan, IA, and Stan Loeschen of Katy, TX; sister, Marilyn Griffin of Houston, TX; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Loeschen and Corrine Vespermann; step-mom, Helen Loeschen; and sister-in-law, Lori Loeschen.
