Robert “Bob” Heinrichs age 88 of Sibley, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley, Iowa, with Father Siby Punnoose as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Lismore, MN, with military honors by the Lismore American Legion.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
Robert John Heinrichs was born on January 20, 1934, in Carroll, IA, the son of Pete and Rose (Roth) Heinrichs. Bob grew up in Wilmont, MN and later graduated from the Wilmont High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
On October 8, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marian Kemper in Lismore, MN. The couple made their home in Sibley, IA, and to this union five children were born, Victor, Monica, Curtis, Steven, and Glen.
Bob was a member of the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and a past member of the Lismore American Legion in Lismore, MN. He also served on the Sibley Ambulance Crew for 31 ½ years. Bob worked several different jobs throughout his life such as a mechanic for Hortons Chevy Garage, as a maintenance man at the Creamery, a boiler operator at the Sibley Power Plant and his most recent job was as a maintenance man at the Osceola County Courthouse.
Bob’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, feeding the squirrels, and loved to take pictures.
Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Marian Heinrichs of Sibley, IA; five children, Victor Heinrichs (Joan Wallace) of Sibley, IA, Monica Pierce of Sioux Falls, SD, Curtis (Judy) Heinrichs of Sibley, IA, Steven (Dawn) Heinrichs of Worthington, MN, and Glen Heinrichs (Michelle Siem) of Sioux Falls, SD; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Rose Miller of Colorado Springs, CO; brother-in-law, Ed Zemler of Spokane, WA; sister-in-law, Karen Engen of Worthington, MN; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Rose Heinrichs; brother, Lloyd Heinrichs; sister, Elaine Zemler; and great grandson, Blake Pierce.
