     Robert “Bob” Lopau age 83, of George, Iowa, died Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, Iowa.

     Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in George, with Reverend Tim Nappe officiating.  Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery of George.

     Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

     Robert Lee Lopau was born on February 12, 1941, in Sibley, IA, the son of Henry and Minnie (Kruger) Lopau.  He grew up in Sibley and attended school in Sibley and  Sheldon.  On May 20, 1968, he was united in marriage to Diann Johnson and they made their home in George, IA.  After thirty-six years of marriage, Diann passed away on June 3, 2004, at the age of 58.

     Bob worked with his brother building elevators for a time, then worked with another company building Greenhouses.

     Bob liked fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife.  He also enjoyed meeting the guys at the Pizza Ranch for coffee in George each day.

     Bob is survived by two sisters, Violet Voss of Lakefield, MN, and Marcella Renken of Sibley, IA; nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Minnie Lopau; four brothers, and three sisters.
