Robert Urban Nasers was born December 4, 1931 on the family farm 3 miles west of Sibley, IA to Roy and Genevieve (Fox) Nasers.  He was raised on the farm and graduated from Sibley High School in 1951.  Bob served his country by enlisting in the United States Army on December 5, 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1953.  While in the military he was stationed in Verdun, France.  Bob returned to farming near Sibley after his service.  On February 14, 1957 he married the love of his life, Beverly Swalve at the Catholic Church parsonage in Sanborn, IA.  As a young couple they made their lives together and raised their four children on what became their own family farm located just north of Sibley, where they have remained to this day.  Bob was a farmer through and through.  He was an extremely hard worker and diligent in all his duties.  A trait he passed to each of his children.  He was a wonderful role model in many ways as they grew up; teaching them love, kindness, being willing to help others and the golden rule of treating others as you would want them to treat you.  In his working life he not only conducted his own successful farming operation but for may years also farmed and milked cows with his brother Ray.  He was also co-owner of Worthington Grain & Feed with his brothers and Les Hayenga, co-owner of Nasers Inc., the 1st 1000 sow farm in the state of Iowa and Dekalb Genetics 1st crossing farm producing breeding stock for Dekalb’s customers, with brothers Ray and Roy, and started KIN Pork Inc. & NNIK Pork Inc. with his children.

Bob loved his family very much and greatly enjoyed spending time with them.  His family will hold many fond memories of the time they spent with their Dad.  He was a fun man to be around and made a point to make time to do things with his family.  He would take his family to the lakes, sometimes every other weekend.  He was a great dad and husband.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  Bob’s faith was very important to him and he was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.  He instilled this also in his children.  Bob was a member of the American Legion and VFW for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Beverly; daughter, Deb (Jeff) Kohn of Harris, IA; sons, Greg (Michelle) Nasers and Scott (Mindy) Nasers all of Sibley, IA; son-in-law, Clark Iedema also of Sibley; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray (Barbara) Nasers of Sibley, IA; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Cindy; brothers, Roy and his wife Dorothy Nasers and Glenn and his wife Teresa Nasers.
