Robert Charles Schwab (later known as Bob or Koot) was born on July 26, 1947 to parents August and Golda (Gallagher)Schwab at Blue Earth, MN. He attended school there and later was united in marriage to Margaret (Klingenberg) at Fairmont, MN on July 25, 1970. The couple resided in Fairmont for most of the seventies, where they began and raised their family. Eventually, they settled in George, IA where Bob was busy welding, fixing lawn mowers & small engines, trucking or working construction. The last job for Den Hartog. His hands were busy for sure, but what he really loved was fishing, going on rides to look at the countryside, and grilling on a beautiful summer day. All these activities were made even better when he was with his family, especially his grandkids! Two songs that meant a lot to Bob were “Far Side of the Banks of Jordon” by Jimmy Fortune and “Just Fishin’” by Trace Adkins. If you listen to these songs, it says a ton about who Koot is or was. Wherever Bob was he would run into an old friend or make a new one. He loved bending ears!
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret of Sheldon, IA; his children David (Kristie) Schwab of George, IA and Megan (Austin) Klein of Hospers, IA; grandchildren Gabriel, Walker, Alice, Charles, & Elenor Schwab also Lydia and Alexa Klein; brother Ralph (Audrey) Schwab of Fairmont, MN; and Bob’s sisters.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents August and Golda and a granddaughter Destiny Schwab.
Blessed be the memory of Robert Charles Schwab.
