Robyn Sue Metzger

Larchwood, Iowa 

     Robyn Metzger age 41, of Larchwood, Iowa, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, from complications of heart surgery.

     Visitation will be Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 5:15 to 8:00 PM with the family present at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester, IA.

     Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA, with visitation from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Lester, IA.

     In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials, which they will direct to various charities.

     Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, IA.

     Robyn Sue Metzger was born March 5, 1982, in Morris, Minnesota, the second of four daughters born to Jeral “Jerry” and Linda (Ebnet) Wulf. She grew up on a farm near Morris and graduated from Morris Area High School in 2000. She enjoyed 4-H, FFA and showing cattle. She continued her education at South Dakota State University, with a degree in Animal Science. She was active with the SDSU Meat Judging Team and enjoyed working at the meat lab.

     Her first job after college was at Advanced Brands LLC in Orange City, and she moved to northwest Iowa. Robyn was united in marriage to Aaron Metzger on April 26, 2008, in Morris, MN. Together they made their home near Larchwood, IA and were blessed with three sons and one daughter: Colt (14), Zane (11), Blaze (8), and Mesa (5).  She then began working for Mogler Farms in Lester, Iowa, and most recently worked at Riverview – Wulf Cattle. 

     She attended Apostolic Christian Church her whole life and recently made the decision to give her heart to the Lord. Robyn had a servant heart and was a member of the Lester Rescue, serving as an EMT and volunteering with the 4-H Extension, and the Lyon County Cattlemen’s Association.

     She enjoyed the simple things of life like working with cattle, horses, and outside activities, along with helping her husband and raising their family on the farm. Most of all she cherished time with her family. She enjoyed planning activities with her family. She gave her whole heart to helping and serving others.

     She is survived by her husband, Aaron Metzger of Larchwood, IA; four children, Colt, Zane, Blaze, and Mesa Metzger; her parents, Jerry & Linda Wulf of Hancock, MN; parents-in-law, Gary & Beth Metzger of Larchwood, IA; three sisters, Rhonda Wulf of Buffalo Lake, MN, Rachel (Jake) Marthaler of Hastings, MN, and Rita (Travis) Moser of Morris, MN; sister-in-law, Laura (Joel) Metz of Keizer, OR; eight nieces: Emery, Chesney, Ava, Isla, Everly, Lanah, Jayna, and Lexi, four nephews: Levi, Brooks, Griffin and Josiah, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Josephine Ebnet; and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Violet Wulf.
