Sibley, IA 

     Rodney Kramer, age 52, of Sibley, IA, died Thursday, May 9, 2019 at his residence in Sibley, IA, after a couragous battle with an extended illness.

     Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13^th at the First Baptist Church in Sibley, IA, with Pastor Doug Noonkester officiating.

     Visitation will be Sunday, May 12^th with family present from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sibley.

     The Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley is handling arrangements.

     In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

     Rodney Dale Kramer was born on January 27, 1967 in Rock Rapids, IA, the son of Herman and Lorraine (Kruger) Kramer. He grew up in George, IA and later graduated from George High School in 1985. Rodney then attended Nashville Auto Diesel College in 1989.

     In 1989 he was united in marriage to Michelle Klaahsen in Sibley, IA, where they made their home. To this union Justin Alexander was born.

     He married Laura Denning in 1997 and they lived in Sibley, and to this union three children were born, Andrew, Cassie and Rebecca.

   On December 10, 2007 Rodney married Darcee Bennett and he was blessed with two more children in his life, Chante and Quintin.

     Rodney worked as an over the road and local truck driver for several transportation companies. He also worked as a mechanic for various places. He began work for GCC Ready-mix in Sibley and in 2009, due to declining health, Rodney was forced to leave his work life behind.

     In 2014 Rodney became a member and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Sibley. He was active in Men’s Bible Study and drove the church van. He enjoyed listening to music and playing guitar. He was referred to by some as a “Book of Knowledge.” He also enjoyed telling trucking stories. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Rodney especially enjoyed visits from his very good friends Pastor Doug, Clark, Denny, and Monte.

     He is survived by his wife, Darcee Kramer of Sibley, IA; five children, Andrew Kramer of Sibley, IA, Cassie (husband Trenten) Rogich of Sibley, IA, Rebecca Kramer of Heron Lake, MN, Chante Lyman and Quintin Lyman, both of Sibley, IA; three grandchildren, Tyler, Isaac, Madilynn and grandson on the way; mother, Lorraine Kramer of George, IA; sister, Linda Peterson of Rock Rapids, IA, sister, Mary Jo (husband Don) Winter of Harrisburg, SD, brother, Herman Jr. (wife Marie) Kramer of Worthington, MN, sister, Corienne (husband Jay) Scott of Austin, MN, sister, Carol (husband Mike) Weber of Austin, MN, brother, Jerry Kramer of Allendorf, IA, Lee Kramer of Ledyard, IA; brother-in-law, Darren (wife Tammy) Bennett of Grayson, GA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Ben Kramer; son, Justin Alexander Kramer in infancy; infant twin niece and nephew, Bridget and Joseph Kramer; parents-in-law, Wilbur “Bill” and VaLoy Bennett.
