Roger L. Moser

     Roger Moser age 83 of Rock Rapids, IA, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids.

      Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, February 14^th at Bethel Reformed Church in Lester, Iowa, with Pastor Steve Meester officiating.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Lester.

     Visitation will be Sunday, February 13^th from to 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Bethel Reformed Church in Lester.

      Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids is in charge of service.

     Roger Lee Moser was born on November 21, 1938, at the family farm northeast of Lester, Iowa, the son of Levi and Edna (Hanson) Moser. He lived on the farm and in 1942 his family moved into Lester. He graduated from Lester High School in 1958.

     Roger worked for various farmers in the area for several years. He was united in marriage to Nelvina Pollema in Hull, IA in 1971. They lived in Inwood and Larchwood, before moving to Lester, where they lived for many years. Roger worked for PIT Auto Salvage Yard in Sioux Falls of 35 years, before retiring. They moved to Rock Rapids in 2015.

     Roger was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Lester. He enjoyed trains, fishing, attending races at Rock Rapids Speedway, camping, and junking. In his younger years he loved roller skating. He especially cherished time spent with his family.

     He is survived by his wife 50 years, Nelvina Moser of Rock Rapids, IA; three children, Chris Moser of Yankton, SD, Melissa (Doug) Vollink of Rock Valley, IA and Sam (Jennifer) Moser of Larchwood, IA; seven grandchildren, Kyle Moser, Tyler Moser, Tanner Moser, Sage Anderson, Landon Vollink, Morgan Vollink and Kayla Anderson; one great-grandson, Braydon Moser; two sisters, Merry (Jerry) Baatz of Larchwood, IA and Barbara Magnuson of Sioux Falls, SD; a brother-in-law, Dick Kalb of Hartford, SD; and sister-in-law, Wilma Moser  of Rock Rapids, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edna Moser; two sisters, Evelyn (Robert) Grotewold and Nancy Kalb; two brothers, Lawrence (Grace) Moser and Ronnie Moser; and brother-in-law, Bert Magnuson.
