Ruth Elaine Krull

     Ruth E. Krull age 91 of Sheldon, IA, formerly of Ashton, IA died Friday, March 22, 2019 at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon, IA.

     There will be no services and the family are planning to have a private family inurnment at a later date.

     The Jurrens Funeral Home of Ashton is handling arrangements.

     Ruth Elaine Krull was born on September 25, 1927 in Avon, South Dakota, the daughter of Ralph and Kate (Fisher) Voigt. She grew up in the Avon area and attended Country School there and later graduated from the Avon High School in 1945. On January 1, 1951, Ruth married Jake Krull in Avon, South Dakota and to this union three children were born, Eldon, Kay and Wendy. Ruth worked as an LPN at the Sibley Hospital for a time and then the Sibley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (Now known as Sibley Specialty Care). She was a member of the Ashton Bible Church in Ashton, IA. She served as a camp nurse at the Racoon River Bible Camp for many years during the summer in Scranton, IA. Ruth enjoyed playing games and cards with her friends at the Christian Retirement Home and she volunteered at the Nursing Home in Sheldon helping the residents with BINGO and other activities. She lived in Ashton until 2008, when she moved to the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. While living in Sheldon she attended the Sheldon Christian Reformed Church. Ruth will be greatly missed.

     Ruth is survived by her three children: Eldon (Patty) Krull of Ankeny, IA, Kay (Doug) Lehner of Ocheyedan, IA and Wendy Robinson of Sheldon, IA; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Irene Eben of Avon, SD; one sister-in-law, Vernice Voigt of Columbus, NE; brother and sister-in-law, Bud (Joyce) Solma of Little Rock, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Kate Voigt; husband, Jake Krull; one sister, Evelyn and husband Rayburn Rueb; and two brothers, Bud and wife Marion Voigt and Edwin Voigt; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Andrew Eben, Lawrence and wife Irene Odens and Herbert and wife Henrietta Herding; and granddaughter, Cassidy Robinson.
