      Scott Blauwet age 59 of Rock Rapids, IA formerly of Larchwood, IA died Friday, September 3, 2021 at his home in Rock Rapids, IA.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday September 7, 2021 at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, IA with Fr. Sunny Dominic, celebrating.  Burial will be in the Larchwood Cemetery at Larchwood, IA.

     Visitation with the family present will be Monday, September 6^th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

     Scott Blauwet was born November 14, 1961, in Sioux Falls, SD the son of Albert and Aileen (Van Vooren) Blauwet.  He was the youngest of five children.  Scott received his education through the Hope Haven school in Rock Valley, IA.  Upon graduating he worked at various supervised work settings for area employers at jobs procured through the Hope Haven system.

     Scott was special to all who knew him.  He never met anyone he didn’t like and everyone he met became a forever friend.  Scott would always ask them which day was their birthday and he had the astounding ability to remember each and every birthday.  He had the honor of participating in the Special Olympics in Des Moines, IA and won gold in the softball throw.

     He was surrounded in life and in death by his wonderfully kind, caring and compassionate Hope Haven Family, friends and staff for which he and his family were truly grateful.

     Scott is survived by his siblings; Roger (Betty Foster), Dale “Barney” (Judy), Allen “Shorty” (Sue), Bonnie (Dan) Sehr; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Arlene Yunker.

     He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Aileen.
