Sharol Broesder age 72 formerly of Little Rock, Iowa died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, Iowa.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA, with Pastor Daniel Stanley officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley, Iowa.

Sharol Broesder was born on February 26, 1953, the daughter of Henry and Donna (Korf) Scholten in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Sharol attended Rock Rapids schools and graduated in 1971. On November 29, 1975, she was united in marriage to Verlyn Broesder at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. The couple made their home on an acreage just outside of Little Rock, Iowa. In 2017 Sharol moved from the acreage to town. In 2024 Sharol became a resident of Sibley Specialty Care.

Sharol enjoyed working in the bar & café business. She owned the bar & café in Little Rock three times, the last time from 1996-2016. She continued to work at the café until her retirement in 2021.

Sharol loved visiting & socializing with her family, friends, & loyal Bucksaw customers. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing, spending time up-North in Effie, MN, playing cards, going to the casino, or watching her stories with her coffee & smokes.

She is survived by her children; son, Kevin (Kristen) Broesder of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Tenille (Lee Obermoller) Broesder of Sanborn, IA; mother Donna Scholten of Little Rock, IA; four grandchildren, Grant & Sloane Broesder, Lyla Broesder, Kyle Obermoller; sister Betty Jo (Jim) Leete of Columbus, SC; brother Clarence (Eileen) Scholten of Marcus, IA; sister-in-law Jackie Broesder of Sibley, IA; sister-in-law Marlette Janshen of Elbow Lake, MN as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Scholten; her husband, Verlyn; two brothers-in-law, Merle Broesder & Earl Janshen.
