     Shirley Ann Huls age 78 of Sibley, Iowa died Friday, February 18, 2022 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley with Father Siby Punnoose, celebrating.  Burial will follow in the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery at Sibley.

     Visitation will be Tuesday, February 22^nd from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.  There will be a Rosary at 5:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Shirley Ann (Hatting) Huls was born April 10, 1943, the daughter of Fred and Genevieve (Voss) Hatting.  Shirley grew up in Ashton, IA where she attended Ashton Catholic School.  Shirley was united in marriage to John Huls, Jr. on August 20, 1961, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley, IA.  Shirley and John made their home and raised their family in Sibley.  During her lifetime she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother while working at home, Country View Manor or Casey’s General Store in Sibley.  She was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley.  Shirley enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and playing cards with her family and friends.  On January 29, 2021, she became a resident of Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley where she died this past Friday morning, February 18, 2022, at the age of seventy-eight.

     She is survived by her husband, John Huls, Jr. of Sibley; their children, Mike Huls of Sibley; Karen (Merlin) Doorenbos of Sibley; Kenny (Lisa) Huls of Sibley; Keith (Brenda) Huls of Sergeant Bluff, IA; Kathy King of Sioux Falls, SD and Kevin (Val) Huls of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters-in-law, Darlene Stofferan and Arleen Huls; along with 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

     Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Genevieve Hatting; father-in-law, John Huls Sr.; mother-in-law, Reka Huls; grandson, Adam Huls; daughter-in-law, Diane Huls; brothers-in-law, Jim Huls, Maynard Huls and Norman Stofferan; sisters-in-law, Carol Lutjens and Janet Huls.
