     Shirley Petersen age 88 of Sibley, IA passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at Country View Manor in Sibley, IA.

     Private funeral service will be Thursday, February 3^rd at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, IA. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA.

     Public visitation will be Wednesday, February 2^nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with family present at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley.

     Shirley Henrichs was born January 8, 1934. She was the daughter of Willie and Ruth (Buss) Henrichs.

     Shirley grew up on a farm by George, Iowa and in 1943 moved with her family to a farm by Sibley, Iowa and attended Sibley High School, graduating in 1952.

     She married Gilbert Petersen June 6, 1952, at the Henrichs family farm. They lived in rural Sibley where they farmed and did custom excavating and tiling business. Her husband died December 2, 2020.

     She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sibley, where she was active in the past with parish activities.

     Shirley worked as a CNA at Country View Manor for many years, being a caregiver to many.

     Those left to cherish her memories are her two sons: Larry Petersen of Watertown, SD, and Loren (Vonnie) Petersen of Sibley; two daughters: Laureen ( Patrick) McCarty of Sheldon, and Kathy(Larry) Ernst of Summerville, SC.; 10 Grandchildren: 14 Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha (Wallace) Schultz of Rushmore, MN, Linda (Cliff) Jansma of Sheldon, IA, one brother: Wendall Henrichs of Florida, one sister in law, Ruth (Gerald) Henrichs of Sibley, IA., and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, parents-in-law, Leone Gray and Donald Peteren, daughter-in-law, Pam (Larry) Petersen, two brothers: Gerald Henrichs, and George Henrichs, and sister-in-law Rhonda (George) Henrichs.

     The family wishes to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Osceola Regional Health Center and Country View Manor for tending to the care of our mother.
