      Silas D. Knobloch, age 87 of Lester, IA died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at his home in Lester, IA, with his family by his side.

     Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, December 11^th at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

     Visitation will be Thursday, December 10^th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester without the family present.

      Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and mask will be recommended during the visitation and funeral service.

     Silas (Si) Doerr Knobloch was born to Emil and Frieda (Doerr) Knobloch on June 18, 1933, at the family farm near Alvord, Iowa.  After his education he became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Lester, Iowa, at the age of 20.  His faith was very important to him.  He served his country from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Germany for 18 months.  He was a member of the American Legion for many years.  Silas was united in marriage to Edith Hohulin on July 14, 1957.  They were blessed with four daughters, Lois, Joyce, Marilyn and Holly.  He was a long-time resident of Lester, Iowa and served as a fire chief for many years.  He worked at IBP in Luverne, MN for 35 years.  He cherished time with his family and enjoyed gardening and yardwork.  He could strike up a conversation with anyone and never knew a stranger.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandpa.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Edith, children Lois (Rodney) Mogler, Alvord, IA, Joyce (Donn) Moser, Larchwood, IA, Marilyn (Joel) Moser, Alvord, IA, Holly (Russ) Sehr, Larchwood, IA, thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.  Also surviving are his siblings Gilbert Knobloch, Rock Rapids, IA, Melvin (Wilma) Knobloch, Lester, IA, Clyde (Charlene) Knobloch, Mackinaw, IL, William (Eleanor) Knobloch, Tremont, IL, Esther (Dennis) Warner, Rock Rapids, IA and other in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

     Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings, Libbie DenHartog, Naomi Knobloch, and Alfred Knobloch, great grandson, Kelton Mogler, and several in-laws.
