Stanley "Stan" Kuhl

     Stanley “Stan” Kuhl age 77 of Sioux Falls, SD died on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Canton, SD.

    Public visitation with the family present will be held one hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley.

     A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Timothy Nappe officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA.  Livestream Link

      Stanley Leo Kuhl was born July 6, 1947, in Worthington, MN the son of Lester and Rose (Miller) Kuhl. Stan grew up in Wilmont, MN where he started school at Our Lady of Good Counsel and later graduated from Worthington Community College with a Vo-Tech degree in appliance repair. On October 26, 1968, he was united in marriage to Louise Huisman at Wilmont, MN. Shortly after they were married, Stan served his country in the United States Marine Corp from April of 1969 until April of 1971. He, Louise and Barb lived in Reading and Wilmont from 1971 to 1973. Then from 1973 until 2015 in Worthington, MN. He worked at the TV Service Center and later at Bedford Industries where he retired from in 2008. After retirement he worked part-time at Lewis Drug, Walmart, Fareway and his favorite, Heartland Express where he transported preschool kids to school. He loved the kids and would play “The Chipmunks” songs while they were riding. The kids loved him! They then made their home in Sioux Falls, SD from 2015 until 2025. Just 4 days before his death he became a resident at the Canton Good Samaritan Society where he died this past Sunday evening at the age of 77. Stan enjoyed golfing, NASCAR races, taking his family to the Minnesota Twins and Vikings games, learning about history and was an avid reader.

     He is survived by his wife, Louise of Sibley; their daughter, Barb Seivert of Sibley, IA; three grandchildren, Jacob (Katy Urbain) Seivert of West Des Moines, IA; Leah (Scott)Tanis of Sioux Falls, SD and Carley (Jaden) Kleinhesselink of Sheldon, IA; one great granddaughter, Noëlle Seivert; his siblings, Connie (Don) Dolan of Hastings MN; Patty (Jerry) Honch of Pittsford NY; Dan (Nancy) Kuhl of Lakeville MN; Gary Kuhl (close friend, Robert Wittstock) of San Francisco CA; Bob (Mira) Kuhl of Napa CA; Charlotte Molosky of Burlingame CA; Charlene Kuhl of Worthington MN: Rich Kuhl of Wilmont MN; Mary(Scott) Anderson of Hutchinson MN and John(Judy) Kuhl of Buffalo MN, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Rose Kuhl; father and mother-in-law, John and Margaret Huisman; son-in-law, Brian Seivert; brothers-in-law, Marv Huisman; Peter Huisman; Darwin Van Brunt and sister-in-law, Karon Huisman.
