Steven Lynn Gruis

George, Iowa 

     Steve Gruis age 70, of George, IA passed away suddenly Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA.

     Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with the family present at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.

     Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Jurrens Funeral Home in George, IA.

     Steven Lynn Gruis was born on September 2, 1952 in Luverne, MN, the son of Elmer and Delores (DeNeui) Gruis. He grew up in George, IA and attended school there.

     On April 18, 1972, he was united in marriage to Linda Schumann. Steve worked for Sudenga Industries in George, IA for fifty-one years. His hobbies included playing World of Warcraft on the computer, mowing, chatting with everyone he met, watching old Western movies, cracking jokes, and playing cards. He also liked taking trips to Florida, going on cruises, holiday gatherings, and just driving around.

     Steve is survived by his wife of fifty years, Linda Gruis of George, IA; four children, Ben (Karla) Gruis of Dell Rapids, SD, and their children, Brett, Kade, and Braden Gruis; Bob (Tracy) Gruis of George, IA, and their children, Max, Sam, and Bre Gruis; Brady (Jill) Gruis of Sheldon, IA, and their children, Wyatt, Weslynn, and Will Gruis; and Brandy (Drew) Sanders of Harrisburg, SD, and their children, Will and Odin Sanders; and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Gruis; and his parents, Elmer and Delores Gruis.
