     Sylvia Rolfes age 79 of Sibley, IA died on August 31, 2021, at her home at Sibley, IA.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Sibley Senior Center in Sibley, IA. Burial will follow at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

     Visitation will be Friday, September 3^rd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, IA.

     Sylvia Ann Rolfes, one of three children born to Henry and Agnes (Kruse) Hinrichs on April 21, 1942, in Little Rock, IA.  She grew up on a farm near Little Rock, IA, where she graduated from Little Rock High School in 1960.  Following High School graduation, Sylvia worked for the Sibley Cleaners and later the Sibley Creamery until 1968.  She was united in marriage to Robert Rolfes on May 5, 1962.  They made their home in Sibley where they raised their family.  Then in 1972, she became a jail matron until she retired in December of 2017 after 45 years.

     She is survived by her husband, Robert of Sibley; their children, Patsy (Doug) Weber of Ashton, IA; Melissa (Layton) Gruis of Adrian, MN; Andrea (Michael) Block of Sibley, IA and Michael Rolfes of Sibley, IA; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; aunt, Martha Kruse of Ellsworth, MN. A sister-in-law, Margie Crutz of Colorado. And many nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Agnes; brother, George Hinrichs, sister-in-law Leona Hinrichs, and sister, Tillie Voss, brother-in-law Arnie Voss. Parent in-laws Cornelius and Geneive Rolfes.  Brother-in-law Gary Crutz.
