     Teresa Popkes age 63, of George, Iowa, died on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at her home in George, Iowa.

     Visitation will be Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in George.

     Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in George with Pastor Chad Duffy officiating.

     Teresa Kay (Nugent) Popkes was born April 18, 1960, at Sibley, Iowa the daughter of Oscar and Caroline (Wathen) Nugent.  Teresa grew up in Sibley and graduated from Sibley High School in 1978.  She continued her education at NITC in Sheldon, IA, graduating with a diploma in secretarial.  She started working her 31-year working history with Prins Insurance and for several years at the George Little Rock Community School.  She was united in marriage to Randy Popkes on August 5, 1995 at Bethel Reformed Church at rural Little Rock, IA.  They made their home in George, IA.  She enjoyed spending time with Randy, gardening, cooking and loving her Chihuahuas.  This past Tuesday, July 4, 2023, she died at her home in George at the age of 63.

     She is survived by her husband, Randy of George; stepdaughter, Crystal (Tim) Waltner of Hartford, SD; two granddaughters, Sway and Teera Walter of Hartford, SD and sister, Carol (Michael) Van Arnam of Spencer, IA.

     Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Caroline.
