Tony Glade age 58 of Ocheyedan, Iowa died Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at VA Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, June 9th at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, IA, with Rev. Richard Milbrandt officiating. Burial will follow at Ocheyedan Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 8th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present at Jurrens Funeral Home, Andringa Chapel in Ocheyedan.
Tony Douglas Glade was born January 7, 1965, in Worthington, Minnesota, the son of Richard and Marilyn (Leckband) Glade. He was raised in Ocheyedan, Iowa. He graduated from Ocheyedan High School in 1983. He entered the U.S. Army in 1984 and received his honorable discharge in 1986 and returned home to Ocheyedan.
Tony was united in marriage to Laura J. Noble on August 3, 1991, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ocheyedan, IA. They welcomed a daughter, Morgan, after three years of marriage in 1994. Together they made their home in Ocheyedan while Tony worked at Swift in Worthington, MN, Rosenboom Machine & Tool and later, Polaris Industries, both in Spirit Lake, IA. In 2005 Tony was diagnosed with a brain tumor and in 2009 he became disabled and unable to work.
Tony enjoyed watching the L.A. Rams football games. He was a music enthusiast and enjoyed playing his guitar. He also enjoyed muscle cars, going for walks, camping at the Lakes, and listening to the birds. Most of all he enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Tony was well-known for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Laura Glade of Ocheyedan, Iowa; a daughter, Morgan (Skyler) Scott of Olathe, Kansas; three brothers: Kerry (Karen), Dwight (Mitzi), Michael (Elise); five sisters: Kim (George Hiveley), Kris, Kelly (Dan Hartwig), Lisa (Dale Carrigan), and Dana (Terry Butler); many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marilyn Glade and two brothers, Darren and Kevin.
