Tracy Den Beste

     Tracy Den Beste age 100 of Sibley, IA died peacefully with her children by her side on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Sibley Specialty Care, in Sibley, Iowa.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday July 15^th at First Reformed Church in Sibley with Pastor Luke Schouten officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley.

     Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with the family present at the church.

     Memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church of Sibley.

     Tracy Den Beste was born September 6, 1918 to John and Tracy (Vander Heiden) Van Gelderen, near Sheldon, Iowa. She was the fifth of eight children. She grew up on a farm West of Sibley, and attended Sibley school.

   Tracy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Edward Winnes Den Beste on December 18, 1942 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Together, they ran their farm east of Sibley, IA for many years, before moving to their home in Sibley. On August 30, 2009 Tracy’s husband of 66 years Edward W. passed away. Tracy moved to Sibley Specialty Care on December 31, 2010. Tracy was a devoted wife, helping take care of the farm. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother - she loved visits and visiting her children and grandchildren and keeping up with their lives and activities. Tracy was a talented seamstress as well as cook and baker. She loved hosting and visiting with her many wonderful friends. Tracy indeed was a good and faithful servant - she lived her life for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Tracy was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Sibley where she enjoyed participating in various church activities. Tracy always had a wonderful sense of humor and a loving smile - she never took a bad picture. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. We celebrate her 100 blessed and wonderful years.

     Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Edward E. (Linda) Den Beste of Huxley, IA, Wanda (Thomas) Nelson of West Des Moines, IA; five grandchildren, Edward L. Den Beste, Renee Den Beste, Shana Frederick, Matthew Nelson, and Jessica Loizzo; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ethel Mae Jurgens of Sibley, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tracy Van Gelderen; husband, Edward W. Den Beste; sisters, Mary Kamies, Anna Luitjens, Jenny Noomen, Minnie De Jong, Tennie Stirler; brothers, Buster Van Gelderen, and Jake Van Gelderen.
