Verna Schneiderman age 94 of Little Rock, IA, died Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Rock Rapids Health Care Centre.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 5th at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA, with Rev. Barry Wynveen officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasantview Cemetery in Little Rock.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the hour of service on Saturday, February 5th at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock.
Memorials may be directed to the Little Rock Fire Rescue.
Verna Irene Schneiderman was born September 3, 1927, in George, Iowa, the daughter of Wesley and Grace (Snuttjer) Harms. She was raised on family farm near George and attended country school.
She was united in marriage to Benard “Bennie” Ray Schneiderman on December 19, 1945, in George, IA. They were blessed with a child, B.J.. Verna and her husband owned and operated Bennie’s 66 Service Station in Little Rock, IA. It was an unwritten rule the Verna was the “boss”. She served as bookkeeper and repair parts runner. Later in life she babysat for several families in Little Rock.
She was a member of the Salem Reformed Church of Little Rock, active with the various church activities. She also was a member of the of the Little Rock American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her Little Rock friends, attending local community and church activities, Friday baked potatoes and coffee time at the Little Rock Grocery Store, and playing Skip boo card games.
She is survived by her son, B.J. (Marcia) Schneiderman of Dakota Dunes, SD; grandson, Jim (Holle) Schneiderman of Cary, NC; granddaughter, Teri (Brad) March of Lawton, IA; great-grandsons, Jack and Max Schneiderman, Brady and Myles March; a brother, Kenneth Harms of Sibley, IA; many nieces and nephews; and her “adopted family” Doug and Liz Venenga of Little Rock, IA; grandson, Vince Venenga of Rock Valley, IA; granddaughters, Raquel (Andrew) VanBriesen of Bismarck, ND and Adele (John) Onken; and special great-granddaughter, Isadore, all of Ashton, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Grace Harms; her husband of 42 years, Bennie Schneiderman; a brother, Loren D. Harms; and a sister, Carol J. Boor.
