Vicki Jolene Vande Garde

     Vicki Vande Garde, age 63, of Sibley, IA, died on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Osceola Regional Hospital in Sibley.

     Visitation will be on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the family present at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, with Pastor Peter W. Wagner, officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley.

     Vicki Jolene Vande Garde was born on October 21, 1960, in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Dale and Lois (Stratmeier) Van Engen.  She grew up in Sibley and later graduated from Sibley High School in 1979.

     On November 5, 2004, she was united in marriage to Duane Vande Garde at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley.  To this union Vicki was blessed with three stepchildren, Jessica, Dylan, and Dakota.

     Vicki worked for Exopack through its many name changes for 33 years.  Her hobbies included horseback riding, baking, camping, fishing, going for walks with her dog Bella, and spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed.

     Vicki is survived by her husband of nineteen years, Duane Vande Garde of Sibley, IA; four stepchildren, Jessica Lynn (Chris) Jacobson of Forest Lake, MN, Dylan Maquade (Brittany) Vande Garde of Sioux Falls, SD, and Dakota Michelle (Houston) Hieronimus of Ashton, IA; her mother, Lois Bolkema of Sibley, IA; one brother, Ron (Shari) Van Engen of Sibley, IA; two stepsisters, Amy (Scott) Swanson of Canton, SD, and Kimberly Miller of Sheldon, IA; four nieces, Denise Van Engen of Sibley, IA, Heather Kruger (Shaun Arispe) of Cleghorn, IA, Casey (Dustin) Gust of Sibley, IA, and Kristin (Steve) Johnson of George, IA; four nephews, Cody (Maddy) Van Engen of Ocheyedan, IA, Donovan Miller of Sheldon, IA, Mark McKee of Tea, SD, and Zakery Wollmuth of Sibley, IA; six great-nephews; three great-nieces; and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; her father, Dale Van Engen and stepmother, Colleen Van Engen; sister, Pam Wollmuth; and one nephew.
