Viola Krull age 98 of Rock Rapids, IA died Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Country View Manor in Sibley, IA.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 17th at First Baptist Church rural George, IA, with Rev. Dr. Mike Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, December 16th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, rural George, IA.
Viola Irene Krull was born October 2, 1921 in George, IA to Cornelius and Jessie (De Boer) Freese. She was raised and received her education in George and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of George in 1939. On July 18, 1942 she was united in marriage to Edwin Paul Krull. The couple moved into Viola’s family home 5 miles east of Rock Rapids. To this union sons Irwin and Paul were born. In 1973 they moved to the Gould farm by the Kanaranzi corner. In retirement, Viola and Edwin moved to Rock Rapids just west of the High School.
Edwin and Viola enjoyed traveling. especially camping with Irwin and Linda in the Black Hills, Yellowstone Park, Glacier National Park. They also took a trip to the south visiting Cape Canaveral, Epcot Center, St. Louis and Padre Island.
Viola lost her husband of 59 years when he passed away in July of 2001. At 91 years of age Viola moved to Premier Estates in Rock Rapids and in September of 2018 she moved to Country View Manor in Sibley. She enjoyed needlework, sewing, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her son, Irwin (Linda) Krull of Dillon, MT and their children, Lana Gar of Billings, MT, Tina Ramsdell of Portland, OR, Chad (Christina) Krull of Bozeman, MT and Ryan (Faith) Krull of Heyden, ID; son, Paul (Sharon) Krull of Sibley, IA and their children, Cory Krull and Clay Krull both of Bozeman, MT; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Vernon (Sandra) Freese of Worthington, MN; sister-in-law, Elaine Freese of George, IA; Larry (Linda) Kix of Rock Rapids, IA; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; 2 brothers, Laurence and John; sister Bernice, sister-in-law, Eleanor.
