 Wanda Parker age 73 of George, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in George.

 A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in George, with Pastor Matt Polsdofer, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery of George.

 Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the George Public Library.

 Wanda Lorraine Spykerboer was born May 1, 1951, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Wilmanette (Kelderman) Spykerboer. Wanda was baptized and made her profession of faith at the Rock Rapids Christian Reformed Church. She grew up on a farm in Southwest Minnesota, just over the Iowa border, where she learned to drive the tractor at the age of 10. She helped around the farm and baled hay. She attended Rock Rapids Christian school until 8th grade and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1969. She then furthered her education obtaining her LPN in 1972.

 Wanda was united in marriage to Jim Parker on March 23, 1974, in Tracy, Minnesota. To this union 2 children were born, Joshua and Jill. 

 Along with raising her children, she worked at the hospital in Tracy, Minnesota for seven years, before moving to George, Iowa in 1979. She was an LPN at the Good Samaritan Society in George for 36 years.

 Wanda was on the George Public Library board for 20 years and enjoyed helping with Kids for Christ at church. She was known for her keen sense of memory, which she inherited from her father. She enjoyed flowers, genealogy, sewing and patching, and watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. 

 Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Joshua (significant other, Jo) Parker of Sioux Falls, SD and daughter, Jill (Chris) Karalius of George, IA; grandchildren, Gabriel, Myles, and Reese Karalius; siblings, Nyla (John) Sohl, Twyla Lindemann, Sandra (Dave) Lamfers, and Janice (Dwayne) Heikes; 10 nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and nephews; many cousins; and extended family and friends. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Wilmanette; husband, Jim in 2005; grandparents, William and Lena (Kracht) Spykerboer and Hank and Tena (Drost) Kelderman; in-laws, Carrol and Alice Parker and brother-in-law, Roger Lindemann. 

 Blessed be her memory.
