Warren Lee Jansma was born March 15, 1961, to William and Harriet (Hoksbergen) Jansma, at Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He was raised on a farm near the Minnesota/Iowa state line. He attended Christian Reformed Elementary School in Rock Rapids. He continued high school at Ellsworth High School, graduating in 1979. During his youth, he helped his father with the daily operation of the family farm and also worked with Drs. Larson and Collins, veterinarians, in Rock Rapids, with larger jobs.

Warren was united in marriage to Delinda K. Van Tilburg on April 2, 1982, at the Christian Reformed Church of Rock Rapids, IA. The couple started out living on an acreage near Ellsworth and moved to Lin’s parents’ farm for the next five years, where they milked cows. They were blessed with three children: Kari, Jason and Wayne. In 1987, they moved to their current farm northwest of Ellsworth and continued farming. Warren raised hogs and cattle along with corn and beans. He was very passionate about caring for his livestock and was a great ambassador for cattle feeders, serving on the Rock Nobles County Cattlemen’s Association and the Minnesota Cattlemen’s Board.

Warren was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church, Little Rock, and served as Deacon and Elder. During their child raising years, Warren and Lin hosted foreign exchange students. He enjoyed golfing, camping and attending car racing events. Warren and Lin were blessed to be able to travel later in life. They took many trips to Mexico and also visited their former exchange student, Bendik Brodtkorb – Myhrer, in Norway. Most of all, Warren adored his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Warren was diagnosed with cancer in June of 2022.  He courageously battled the disease until this past Saturday, December 10, 2022, when he passed away at Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA, at the age of 61.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Delinda “Lin” Jansma of Ellsworth, MN; three children, Kari (husband Dustin) Hansen of N. Mankato, MN, Jason L. (wife Kelsie) Jansma of Adrian, MN, and Wayne W. (wife Alicia) Jansma of Ellsworth, MN; twelve grandchildren; his parents, William and Harriet Jansma; five siblings, Denice (husband Mike) Dirks of Luverne, MN, Sandy Wissink of Rock Rapids, IA, Kevin (wife Kristin) Jansma of Rock Valley, IA, Billy (wife Michelle) Jansma of Ellsworth, MN, and Colleen Jansma of Worthington, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Darryl Jansma, parents-in-law, Emery and Edith (Korthals) Van Tilburg; and a brother-in-law, Scotty Wissink.
