     Albert Korthals age 85 of George, Iowa died Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Bethel Reformed Church, rural Little Rock, Iowa with Reverend Scott Van Ravenswaay, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Reformed Cemetery. There will be no public luncheon following the service and we will be following social distancing guidelines throughout the church and sanctuary.

     Visitation will be Friday, May 29^th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. We will be following the 10-person limit for guests in the funeral home during visitation.

     Albert Korthals was born on October 2, 1934, the son of Gerrit and Ida (DeWeerd) Korthals. He grew up on the family farm south of George, IA.

     On February 22, 1955 he was united in marriage to Johanna Ohling. The couple made their home northeast of Ellsworth, MN where they farmed for 42 ½ years. To this union four children were born, Kathleen, Robert, Beverly, and Susan. After retiring from farming in 1999, they moved to George, Iowa.

     Albert was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church. Albert enjoyed Fishing, Bowling, Wheelchair Ministry, and several mission trips distributing wheelchairs. He enjoyed playing Pinochle with family and friends several times a week.

     Albert is survived by his four children, Kathleen (Mike) LeTendre of Slayton , MN, Robert (Molly) Korthals of Forest Lake, MN, Beverly (Ron) Droge of Lennox, SD and Susan (Lloyd) VanDyk of Sioux Falls, SD; twelve grandchildren: Ted (Sandy) Christians their children, Serena, Gregory, Cara and Tony, Theresa Smidt her son, Trenton, Terrilyn (Peter) Gokey, Tammi (Dean) Paulzine, their children Charlotte, Josiah, Maggie and Eliana, Travis Christians (special friend Taya Gray), Chris (Alex) LeTendre, their children Brenner, Karter and Kynlee, Pat LeTendre, Aaron (Kacie) Korthals their children Jace, Paislie, Cedar and Maven, Stephen (Maureen) their children Isla and Elliot, Leanne Korthals, Derek (Kristi) Droge their children Klaire and Sadie, Christine (Jon) Vandehoef, their children RJ and Mason, Jennifer (Steve) Peterson, Jessica (Alex) Turbak, Siblings John (Mary) Korthals, Alfred Korthals, Harold Korthals, Edward Korthals, sister-in-law, Floy Korthals and many other extended family.

     Preceded in death by his Wife of 63 years Johanna (Ohling) Korthals, parents, Gerrit and Ida (DeWeerd) Korthals, Brothers Leonard at infancy, Marion and Ronald, Sisters Gertrude at infancy, Henrietta, Jeanette, Leona and Edith, son-in-law, Ted Christians.
