Betty Hasche

    Betty Hasche age 93 of Rock Rapids, Iowa passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa with Reverend Matt Polsdofer, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.

     Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with the family present at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

     Betty Langfeldt Hasche was born June 1, 1930, the daughter of Fritz and Emma (Delfs) Langfeldt.  She grew up near Alvord and attended country school through the 8th grade, then graduated from Alvord High School in 1948.  She continued her education at Westmar College.  

     Betty was united in marriage to Ronald Hasche on August 24, 1952 at Christ Lutheran Church in Alvord.  They lived on a farm near Doon from 1952 until 1956.  They then moved to their farm near Rock Rapids.  They lived there until retirement in 1993, when they settled in Rock Rapids.  

     In the past, Betty was a teacher at the country school near Alvord.  She was a member of the ILCW and the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Rapids, where she taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, playing cards, and Bingo.  Her main joy was her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

     Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Duane (Janet) Hasche of Okoboji, IA, Marlene (Tom) Haupert of Granville, IA, Audrey Hasche of Sioux Falls, SD, Karla (Jim Zeck) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Bruce (Kathy Moser) Hasche of Larchwood, IA; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Cornell of Sioux Falls, SD, Harold Hasche of Rock Rapids, IA, Jan (Bob) Barrett of Wilton, IA, and Renee Hasche of Rock Rapids, IA; along with many extended family and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ronald; siblings, Harold (Irene) Langfeldt, Willie (Viola) Langfeldt, Freddie (Therese) Langfeldt, Dorothy Langfeldt; sister and brothers-in-law, Ed Cornell, Mona Hasche, and Mervin Hasche.
