     Darcy Ney age 58 of Melvin, Iowa died Friday, March 17, 2023, at Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley.

     Visitation will take place Friday, March 24, 2023, from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM with Pastor Wesley Kouba, officiating at Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley. 

     A celebration of life will take place Saturday, March 25^th starting at 12 noon at JR’s Bar in Melvin.

     Darcy Ney was born on April 22, 1964, in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Corinne (Putnam) Philiph.  She grew up in Sibley with her three siblings.  Darcy attended Sibley High School, graduating in 1983.  She went on to further her education, receiving a bachelor’s degree at Mankato State University in 1988.

     Darcy was united in marriage to Robert Ney on September 30, 1995, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, Iowa. Darcy and Bob were blessed with one child, Christina. 

     She was a member of Lakeside Church in Worthington, Minnesota.  She had a very strong faith and loved her church family.  A word that would describe Darcy, would be Artist.  She loved painting and teaching others to paint.  Darcy enjoyed horses and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

     Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 27 years, Bob; daughter, Christina (Michael) Stallmann of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren, Landon, Arianna, McKenna, Brennan, Kade, and Lexi; siblings, Jeff (Ann) Philiph of St. Louis, MO, Doug (Marcia) Philiph of Des Moines, IA, SueAnn (Tom) Jankowski of Clinton, IA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry (Laura) Ney of Jackson, NE, Laura (Bill) Woudstra of Johnston, IA, John (Sarah) Ney of Oak Harbor, WA, Mary (Greg) Middleton of Omaha, NE, and Kenny (Wendy) Ney of Newaygo, MI; along with extended family and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Corinne Philiph; and parents-in-law, Don and Joan Ney.
