     Darlene Ohling, age 84 of Rock Rapids, IA died Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Sanford Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls, SD.

     Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Bethel Reformed Church of rural Little Rock, IA with Rev. Scott Van Ravenswaay officiating.  

     Burial will follow at the Bethel Reformed Church Cemetery.

     Visitation will be the morning of the service August 19^th from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Bethel Reformed Church of rural Little Rock, IA.

     Darlene Margarethe Dorothea Fick was born on November 24, 1934 on a farm near Hills, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and Frieda (Sohl) Fick. She attended grade school at Pleasant View District #57, Rock County, MN and graduated from Hills High School in 1952. She worked at Rock County Bank in Luverne for five years.

     On November 15, 1957 she was married to Egbert Ohling at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Luverne, MN. They farmed east of Rock Rapids their entire life. She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church, rural Little Rock, IA.

     She is survived by her husband, Egbert Ohling of Rock Rapids, IA; five children, Debra (Kim) Meester of Sioux Falls, SD, Carol (Rich) Haugen of Sioux Falls, SD, Ron (Sonia) Ohling of Sioux Falls, SD, Lynette (Doug) Koedam of Sioux Falls, SD and John (Krey) Ohling of Omaha, NE; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with two great-grandchildren on the way; two brothers, Vernon (Joyce) Fick and Robert (Avis) Fick, both of Luverne, MN; sister-in-law, Sharon Fick of Hugo, MN; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Frieda Fick; brother, Eldon Fick; daughter-in-law, Donna Klinkenborg Ohling; and son-in-law, Arlen Klarenbeek.
