Evelyn Busch, 98, of Rock Rapids, died September 25, 2022.  Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at the Rock Rapids United Methodist Church, 302 S. Carroll Street, with Pastor Travis Remme officiating and assisted by grandson Brett Busch. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Evelyn was born June 24, 1924, in Kimball, SD, the daughter of Charles and Dora (Deal) Brandt.  She attended school in Kimball through fifth grade.  In 1936 she moved with her parents to Rock Rapids.  She graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1942.  She married Ronald Busch October 31, 1946 in Luverne, MN.  During his service with the U.S. Navy, they lived in Great Lakes, IL; Guam; San Diego, CA; Memphis, TN; and Olathe, KS.  After Ronald’s retirement from the Navy in 1957, they made their home in Rock Rapids.  She was a nurse assistant for 33 years at the local hospital.  She was a member of the Rock Rapids United Methodist Church.  Her greatest joy came through time spent with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events.  She traveled with friends across the United States. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and an inspiring role model to all. 

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Renae and Dwight Seigenthaler of Sioux Falls, SD and Rita and Dennis Vannatta of Sioux City, IA; and a son and his wife, Curt and Diane Busch of Milford, IA.  She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Molly (Austin) Brynjulson, Abby (Lorenzo) Brown, Ashley (Miguel) Rangel, Adam Vannatta, Brett (Brittany) Busch, Clayton Busch, Heather (Lawton) DeJong, and six great grandchildren, Oliver and Amelia Brynjulson, Case DeJong, and McKenna, Jayla, and London Brown, and one soon-to-be great grandson in February 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
