     Florence M. Knoblock age 96, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Lester, IA died Tuesday October 25, 2022 at Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA.

     Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA.  Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Lester, IA.

     Visitation will be Thursday, October 27^th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester.

     In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Apostolic Christian HarvestCall, Lester, IA. Florence enjoyed many hours sewing for those in need. 

     Florence Martha Knoblock, daughter of Henry and Pauline (Dietrich) Mogler was born June 29, 1926, on a rural Alvord, IA farm. She attended Logan #1 country school through the 8th grade, and graduated from the Lester High School. Her first job was at the Sioux Falls, SD Air Force base. In December 1945, she began working at the Lyon County State Bank in Rock Rapids, IA, as a teller and bookkeeper until 1949.

     On August 21, 1949, Florence married August “Gus” Knoblock in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home at the family farm south of Lester, IA. Florence and Gus became members of the Apostolic Christian Church of Lester, IA in 1951. Both of them cherished and lived their faith.

     In February 1980, Florence and Gus moved to their home in Lester, IA.  Gus and Florence spent many winters enjoying the warm weather and fellowship in Zapata, TX and Tucson, AZ. Florence had a servant heart by reaching out to many people through her kind gestures: sewing, cooking, quilting, gardening, and writing letters.

     On December 12, 2013, her husband Gus of 64 years passed away. Florence continued living in their Lester, IA home until 2018, when she moved to the Tuff Village Assisted Living in Hills, MN. Recently, she moved to Premier Estates Assisted Living in Rock Rapids, IA. 

     This past Sunday, October 23^rd Florence was admitted to Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital where she remained until Tuesday, October 25, 2022, when she died at the age of 96 years. Her mind remained very alert until Sunday evening. 

     Left to cherish her memory are four children: two sons, Steven (RoseAnn) of Sabetha, KS and Terry (Elaine) of Rock Rapids, IA; two daughters, Kay of Sioux Falls, SD and Sue (Rod) Bajema of Larchwood, IA; 11 grandchildren, Shana (Nick) Aberle, Tasha (Mark) Schurter, Andy (Abby), Jay (Candy), Anita (Wade) Feuchtenberger, Joanna  (Mark) Schaefer, Tami (Dave) Lanz, Heidi (Ryan) Frank, Wendi (Lance) Crawford, Kelli (Bryce) Kolander, Micah (Nikki) Bajema, and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother Howard (Lillian) Mogler, brother-in-law, Frank Moser, and sister-in-law, Donna Mogler; in addition to many nieces, nephews and extended family, whom Florence thoroughly enjoyed. 

     Florence was preceded in death by her husband Gus, parents Henry and Pauline Mogler, brother Phil Mogler, and five sisters: Dorothy Kellenberger, Leona Moser, Melva Messner, Marjorie Mogler, and Verna Moser.
