Frances Wills age 88, of Sibley passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 15th, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., with family present at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA, with Pastor Brian Schafer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley, IA.

Frances Janie Wills was born on January 26, 1934, at her parents’ home east of Sibley, IA, to Herman and Grace (Steen) Janssen. She grew up there and attended country school, graduating from Sibley High School in 1952.

Frances married Delbert Logan Wills on March 7, 1953, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Viola Township. She started her career as a bookkeeper at the Sibley Creamery. After Delbert came home from serving in Korea, they started a family and she became a homemaker (as she states, "with no regrets!"). They settled near Cloverdale, Iowa where they raised five girls and made their living farming.

Frances had a talent sewing clothes for her family, including prom and bridesmaid’s dresses. She also enjoyed many activities, such as garden club and volunteering in the community. She was involved in various groups in church and formed many friendships and memories. A highlight included a church trip to Israel and the Holy Land. Sunday evenings were a special time spent together with the girls and their families on the farm.

Frances took pleasure in reading devotionals and books on health, searching for a natural remedy for any ailment! Frances moved into Sibley Specialty Care in 2019. She touched many people in all stages of her life.

Those left to cherish her memories are her five daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Roger Meyer of Rock Rapids, IA, Diane and Mike Remakel of Worthington, MN, Darla and John Linquist of Sibley, IA, Denise and Tom Kuiper of Sibley, IA, Donna and Mike Schoonhoven of Hospers, IA; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law Lorn and Joan Wills of Sanborn, IA, Gloria Wills of Sibley, IA, Alvin Jurrens of Sibley, IA, and Ruby Janssen, of Sibley, IA.

Frances is preceded in death by parents Herman and Grace Janssen, husband Delbert Wills and her brother Harold Janssen.
